Reply to this In 1972 Mowtown Records signed a fiery young Chicago blues guitarist who was hailed as the next big thing recording "Bad News is Coming" the majesty of which was lost as Disco then swamped the Mowtown airwaves. He departed for Europe not returning to USA until 1994. Fortunately his searing intensity was still intact and "Bad News is Coming" finally hit the heights it deserved. Sadly he died in 1997 at age 57. One wonders what could have been.
My love of Blues was probably ignited by the opening Willie Dixon track by the Rolling Stones..."Little Red Rooster"...but this guy does it better... makes my skin crawl.
"A" is for LUTHER ALLISON
The opening track of the "Bad News is Coming" Album "LITTLE RED ROOSTER"
This album is too good to only hear one track so here is the remainder of the album

Blues influenced the English music scene in the 1960s developing into some of the iconic rock bands such as the Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Animals and later Led Zeppelin, Even influenced the introduction of Heavy Metal with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple & Aerosmith.
The bass player of The Animals, Chas Chandler discovered Jimi Hendrix and soon the Jimi Hendrix Experience was born!!!
The Animals' "Big Lights, Big city" was a Jimmy Reed Blues song...then there was this much covered chestnut:
