I can't believe more people don't visit Myanmar. So much 'wilder' and untouristed than the rest of the SE and the people there are truly wonderful.
Of course its hard to use the word 'best' but for me, its easily the most exciting.

I am definitly a fan of thailand. I love the people, the relaxed atmosphere and the super nice hotels at a cheap price. We have been travelling to different areas of late and you can find some really nice 'quiet' type villages that still have a range of small tourist attractions but you can get out there and enjoy the local food, people and bars without any issues. I really liked Ao Nang in Krabi province otherwise patong beach is always my favourite in phuket with the bars and restarants along the beach. I wasnt keen on the Pattaya area as it had the whole dodgy s3x feel about it with some strange going ons that wasnt nice to witness and chang mai is nice and way more junglish so worth a visit.
I think singapore is the opposite and such a huge capital city that is has everything. Everyone is so well dressed and shops are so nice and everything is so clean it seems the opposite to me of most asian cities and areas. If youve been to Hong Kong i think they have a similar international feel.
I am not that keen of indonesia or malaysia...malayasia is just getting the feel of tourism so even though we've been to langkowi, kuta, penang, kl and sunway it can still be difficult to find cheap restarants and quite difficult to find bars to drink at. Depending how much into the country you go there seems to always be the open sewer smell going on and heaps and heaps of rubbish. And purely a personal preference but i prefer thai food over malaysian and indonesian but you should most certainly go there to make that decision. thats my plan anyway, to at least try everything at least once 😊)
let us know what you decide and how you find those countries!

Seriously? It doesn't have Vietnamese coffee, Thai beaches or Khmer architecture... to name an incredibly small percentage of Asian things that India doesn't have. Reply to this

Welcome to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism

New Open World will announce New Seven Wonders of the World on November 11, 2011, under a campaign launched by it in order for people worldwide to vote for new wonders of the world. So far, more than one million messages have been sent to 147 voting for the Ha Long Bay as a new wonder of the world.
Pham Minh Chinh, the secretary of the Quang Ninh Province Party Committee, said that many forms of voting for the Ha Long Bay would be applied in the final stage. Among these would be messaging, which is an easy way to vote for Ha Long as a new wonder of the world.
Chinh said that Quang Ninh Province would continue investing in tourist projects and ensure the environment in the bay to make it a really attractive and impressive destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
Each and every Vietnamese citizen or those who love Vietnam can make part in getting Ha Long reach the title "New Wonder of the World" by voting at the website http://www.new7wonders.com or dial + 1.869 760.5990 and press 7712 to vote for Ha Long. They can also compose a text message (Halong) and send it to 147. Now is the most important time to show Vietnam's efforts made during the last three years.
The National Steering Committee on World Wonder Propaganda and Voting Encouragement got together with ministries, central and local authorities and organizations to call on people to vote for Ha Long and present the wonderful place to people at home and abroad. This explains why the Ha Long Bay has always been in a high position among the 28 wonders of the world that went to the final round.
In the first nine months of this year alone, the Ha Long Bay received almost three million foreign visitors, marking a 25 percent increase from the same months last year. UNESCO twice acknowledged the bay as a world natural heritage site. In the event that the Ha Long Bay gains recognition as a new wonder of the world, Vietnam will certainly become one of the most attractive destinations in the world and the national name will be improved. Opportunities are nearing depending on each and every citizen who will vote for the bay.

Please vote to Halong bay.

Thank you so much.

I loved living in Malaysia, but I couldn't say there's a single "best" country in South East Asia.

Kuala Lumpur is a great city with a LOT to do though... and it'd definitely be worth a visit.

Also, you ought to check out possibly going to Phuket, Thailand. It's not too expensive and is absolutely beautiful.
