I've never been travelling before and I'm still undecided - part of me really wants to go but there is also a big part that is very scared and apprehensive about doing it on my own....advice would be much appreciated :-)
That's what I was thinking ... I know I'm going to be pretty nervous as it is .. couple that with long flight/jetlag etc and turning up with a week of Rio Carnival to contend with it could be too much! So instead of missing out completely I am looking into turning up on say 6th March (when Carnival runs until 8th). Therefore I am not completely missing the Carnival but at the same time not dropping myself right at the deep end. I'd never really thought about Carnival before but so many people seem to rave about it and the chap I met with at the travel agency started his trip with it last year and said it was amazing. Mind you, I did go to Notting Hill this year and that was quite hectic even for 2 days!
Reply to this Hi Sam
We're currently travelling South America and i have to add my support as well. It's amazing here! It is crazy but beautiful and sometimes i just look around and can't believe i'm here. Yes sometimes it might be too full on and stressful, but it doesn't last and you will not regret one second of getting on the plane. (and as a little reassurance, if you get a bit homesick, most big towns/cities in S. America have an English bar, sometimes it helps to have something familiar when your tired/jetlagged, not that i suggest hanging out in them all the time of course, kinda defeats the point of going!) Hope you end up going, you will have an amazing time. Liz
