2011 Jan - Feb where to go

I live in China and have some time off in Jan and Feb. I was thinking of travelling around a bit.

I live in China and have some time off in Jan and Feb. I was thinking of travelling around a bit. But I don't really know where, as my time is limited. I have already seen a lot in China and don't want to stay here for this time of the year. It's too cold for me. I was thinking of travelling in India. What you guys think? Is it hot and safe enough this time of the year? I know the Hymalayas are not hot but I guess the rest is ok. And what do you suggest to see in about 6 weeks in India?
