Hi there,

I just booked my ticket for Mumbai today and I am really excited!!!!
I have already been to the North (Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Benares, Delhi..) and this time I will be travelling around India for 26 days, arriving to Mumbai on the 30th of July. I don't mind the hot weather that much, I can't travel during another period, so...I was planning going South, towards Goa, Kerala...but dont know yet any interesting sites...have read a little about the famous backwaters, nationalparks, tea plantations...I would like to start planning a rough itinerary before getting there xD
How important is it to prebook the hostels?
Thanks!

Kerala the southern state of India has gained recognition in world tourism. Popularly know as God's own country for its beauty and serenity. You will enjoy the separateness and relaxation in Kerala.
All the seasons are best to visit in Kerala except rainy season.
I refer you to contact tour operator to make your trip. Their expert advice will help you to make your trip the best and cheap.

Below are some places

Kovalam
Thekkady
Munnar

Hi,
I have been studying the topic and have finally decided to reduce the amount of States and try to enjoy my time there as well as watching as many places as I can, obviously it will slightly vary over the trip!
I have decided just to do the SouthWest Coast of India, arriving to Mumbay 29June, going down across Maharastra, Goa, Kerala, Karnatka and Tamil Nadu, arrive at the more meridional point, and from there, fly back to Mumbai a couple of days before leaving Mumbai 26th of July.
I think it¡s a better strategy and would allow me to relax, enjoy and experience SWE that I am completely new to!
So, realistically I am focusing on finding info about how to move from here to there, distances and flights
Thanks all!
and please feel free to add any suggestions!

Hi,
If you still want to look for a better tour plan it is here.

Chennai > Mahabalipuram > Kanchipuram > Pondicherry > Swami Malai > Tanjore > Tirchy > Madurai > Rameshwaram > Kodaikanal > Kanya Kumari > Kovalam > Periyar > Kottaym > Alleppey > Ooty > Coonoor > Mysore > Srirangapatnam > Hassan > Belur > Bangalore > Sravanbelgola > Mumbai.

In this tour plan you will be visiting some great temples, beach destination, hill station, backwater destination and other places will be cultural and historical.

Regards

Munnar in kerala and , ooty in tamil nadu are wonderful hill destinations. Apart from this, you can also chk out Periyar wildlife sanctuary for some wildlife experience. Chennai, mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu and Tirupati in andhra pradesh are good cultural destination. If you want see a bit of modern India, then, you should head towards Bangalore and Hyderabad. Reply to this

Varkala beach is a nice place for a couple of days if you want a break from India with good food and a nice view...didn't find it all that friendly though compared to other places in India.

Thanjavur temple is really great, well worth seeing, as is the temple at Madurai.

Mahalbalipuram is also a nice place to chill for a while with good food and interesting temples.

Hampi again is awesome but is quite a long way from the South.

Goa, I wouldn't bother with.
