This website is genius. A lot of important things to read before I decide to go around the world. I recently received 10k that I did not expect to get so the thought of traveling for sometime around the world came to mind. Basically, I am thinking about traveling to ( in no particular order) Spain; madrid, Sweden, Italy; Venice, Rome. India, China; The great wall. Egypt; the pyramids, France: Eiffel tower, Greece. The list of places to visit within any of those countries will increase as I do more research. I will take a leave of absent from work and school for roughly 3 to 6 months depending on the amount of money I will need to travel. My biggest concert is budgeting myself and getting to the airport and just taking off. I am nervous and afraid at the same time but I want to do it. In order to save cash abroad, I am thinking about asking restaurants or any place from which I need service that I will take pictures of the place and post them in my travel journey online for some advertising 😊 but with the language barrier my convincing skills might not sound convincing at all. My ultimate goal is to experience different cultures and above all have fun. So what is your opinion on my travel plans? Please feel free to say wat eva you want on this. I am open to all ideas and I have over a year to plan this trip.
Reply to this Welcome to the site batista08. Take a look around, read some blogs that have been written about journeys taken in the areas that interest you the most. They are all personal views and stories so you may find things useful. Costs will vary depending on your choice of travel, air, land or sea and your choice of accomodation. Do you need luxury or do you like to camp. Just small things you need to think about first.
Reply to this Hhehe well I was thinking it was a vacation at first but I don't think I could afford to live like a king staying in the Hiltons or such hotels. I have never camped in my life or slept in a hostel and after watching the movie hostel, I am a bit afraid of staying in one 😊 but honestly I can stay anywhere there's clean sheets and a clean bathroom.
One question to you guys, are you afraid when traveling to unknown places? I mean it is very easy for anyone to end up in the wrong side of town, isn't it?
Reply to this Hello Leonardo 😊
...are you afraid when traveling to unknown places?
That depends on the place. I am not nervous about travelling in most places in Europe. I was a bit nervous when I went to Naples, because of the crime reputation it has though.
I was terrified when I was going to Iran. I would probably have jumped out of the plane on the way there if id had a parachute, but on sceond thoughts maybe I wouldnt because I am terrified of heights too. I was pretty nervous before Kyrgyzstan too. First time I went to India I was also terrified.

Not really. Most people in hostels and hotels will be able to tell you which are the dangerous parts of town. Most parts of any town are safe enough during daylight. I usually ask the hostel or hotel people when I arrive someplace if it is safe for me to wander around at night alone/with others etc.

Reply to this well hi! to everyone. i am new to this forum. i will love to have discussions on traveling, traveling is my great passion. i will love to read thoughts of different people regarding traveling.
Reply to this My only apprehension about your itinerary is the the long list of locations. I personally, would stick to one region and really get to know a place. You'll save a ton in transportation costs to boot.
