Medellin to Bogota to Cartagena!

What\'s the best way to go from Medellin to Bogota to Cartagena and back to Medellin. I am looking for some flights, but looks like they are so expensive. Does anyone know any other options for flying. I will be there in 2 weeks.

You don't say how long you have but here are my suggestions for bus routes.I have broken them up so no really long haul routes but you may want to cut out a few of the lesser known towns if you don't mind a long time on bus. This is just from memory ,so double check, but I'm sure spelling and routes are correct.
Medallin-Bogota-San Gil ,extreme sports capital of Colombia,-Bucaramanga-Agua Chica-Santa Martha/Taganga ,SCUBA town and beggining of Lost City Trek,-Barranquilla ,home town of Shakira,-Cartagena-Covenas-Monteria-Medallin.
I LOVE Colombia.Enjoy.

The overnight buses in Colombia are pretty good, so you can sleep on them and then wake up and get stuck in!

I would recommend San Gil, definitely, and we had great fun there! Reply to this

Bus is really the only other option, and should be quite cheap. Expreso Bolivariano is one of the most well know and with best coverage in the country. If you have time go for the stops between Bogota and Cartagena. Also try Villa de Leyva and Barichara... I wouldn't bother much with Barranquilla though, but Parque Tayrona (3 hours from Santa Marta, although in the opposite direction from Cartagena) is great.
It might also be worth trying a flight for the last leg back to Medellin from Cartagena if you run out of time, but you could do it on a single bus journey (probably 12 hours).
Have fun!

I would go by night bus to Bogota with Bolivariano bus company, then fly to Cartagena with easyfly.com.co, which is really cheap and the bus it again to Medelllin
