Travelling for 6 months. Need some assistance

Me and my girlfriend are going travelling for 6 months in SE Asia.
Were looking at 1 month in thailand, 1 month in Vietnam, 1 month in Laos, 2-3 weeks in Cambodia. 2-3 weeks in Malaysia, 1 month in Indonesia. And 1 month in the phillipines.

I no it's a silly question but will we be able to "see everything" in this time frame? We want to try and use bus/trains as much as we can. But will fly if we have to. We also wanted to do a padi open water dive course at somewhere near the start of the trip. Any suggestions for the best (still cheapish) place to do it?

Thanks. Dan. X Reply to this

Hello Dan 😊

'Everything' covers a wide range. I dont think a person would see everything about a country even if they lived there all their life. But, 6 months is a nice long time to roam around SE Asia. You will see plenty.

I agree with Mell, I was spent 4 months in S.E Asia in 2006 (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos) I felt pretty satisfied that I had seen quite a bit. Of course I could have stayed longer and seen more but I think most people get that feeling no where you go in the world!! Reply to this

Thanks for the replies guys, i know we wont "see everything" just wanted to make sure we could get around nicely. Not rushing around.
Any clue on the padi course?

I dont know anything about diving. It might be an idea to make another thread asking about the Padi course, so those who do know will be more likely to see it. 😊 Reply to this

Koh Tao is the best place in Thailand... or that area (area being Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam) for that matter, it's an island with nothing to do except for dive, learn to dive, and talk to divers... and do some driving around on mopeds. there are many great hotels that offer good deals, such as free nights if you sign up for a diving course with them. They are Padi certified, not sure if every single one is but most are from my knowledge. Reply to this
