Hi, I'm looking to go travelling in SE Asia in 2011. I know it's a long long time away, bug I'm already excited! I will be going with my GF and we will be going for at least 6 months. We ideally wanted to start the trip with a pre arranged tour, of places like, Laos,Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali. If any1 knows of any websites or companys I should look at? please help. I also wanted peoples suggestions for things we should do while there? Any must do/see, things/places? Any help with ideas of living costs , food? Accomidation? Would be appreciated.

Thank you all in advance. Dan. X

Hello Dan

I'm looking to go travelling in SE Asia in 2011.
It is only as couple of months away and time flies. :)

I dont bother with tours. I just use a guidebook for independent travellers, such as South East Asia on a Shoestring by Lonely Planet. It has all the practical information a traveller could need. Maybe you and your girlfriend could give independent travel a try. It is easier than many think and it would cost less than a tour and allow you more flexibility.

Visit Singapore!!! A places of wonders... and there will be 2 new intergrated resorts... world class facilities, with casino, and theme parks, universal park in sentosa... places to eat, and shop... cheap. good. world class.

for islands, visit Malaysia.... Make singapore as your point to point stop... as it has wonderful connections with the rest of South East Asia... budget flights out from singapore, visit tigerairways.com for more info....

See I personally would use Kuala Lumpur as my base as AirAsia flights are VERY CHEAP and this is their base. Plus it is a cool city.

Hi guys, thanks for the info. Not sure I was gonna use anywhere as a "base" though. Was just gonna travel from 1 place to the next, thinking about starting In India now, as it's so cheap to fly to Mumbai. and coming through Burma. Towards Laos. Any idea about budget? Per day? Also I've heard really good things about the gili islands in Indonesia, any info on these would be great.

Thanks. dan. X
