I'm looking for the cheapest way to fly from Vancouver, Canada to Bangkok Thailand. Would it be cheaper to travel on a multi-city route or just straight to Bangkok with no stops. Or would it be cheaper to fly from a different city i.e. Seattle or to fly to a smaller city in Thailand. Any suggestions are appreciated and any website suggestions that i can look at would be great. Thanks. Reply to this

Hello Luke 😊

I usually use an interent search engine to find the best flight prices. Sometimes it is cheapest to fly directly to the destination, and sometimes it is cheaper to have a layover on the way. But the search engine will calculate the layover for you. You dont have to search for the flight individually. Just search Vancover to Bangkok.

Bangkok is usually/always the cheapest city in Thailand to fly into.

The search engine I use to find and buy long haul flights is billigfluege

Hi,

There are no direct flights between Vancouver and Thailand, or between Seattle and Thailand. Seattle could be way cheaper because you have more competition in the US market. Easy way to check, use one of the main site....without naming it, expedia, travelocity, or any of those to give you an idea, than go direct to the airline web site.

You will have to do a "technical" stop in Asia, you could make this a stop-over to visit....this could be in China, HK, Japan, Korea or Taiwan to name a few, even in Manilla.

Currently, you have only Singapore Airlines flying direct from LAX to Singapore in South East Asia....everything below Hong Kong will need a stop. Thai used to have a direct flight from Bangkok to LAX, but this one is over with the crisis.

Hope this help,

Hi Newbie87,

Travelocity.ca is a good place to start searching for deals as well. You didn't mention when you want to go, but a quick search for December-January showed about 1600 CAD tax inclusive for Air Canada and Singapore Airlines. There are 1-3 stop overs though as Mell mentioned either in Tokyo, SF etc. I am not sure if you can get a cheap flight to Tokyo-narita, but just to let you know Thai Airways is running a promotion for Tokyo-Bangkok for 380 USD return.

Hope this helps.

It doesn't hurt to check with a local travel agency in your town. They may have some special deals or and other helpful information. They know what flights are convenient for your area. You do not have to commit to any flights through them unless you want to.

When you get some prices from discounters also run those prices against what the airline websites have. The airline has the price you want to beat, if you do not know the price the airline has how would you know you have a good price from a discounter?

December is one of the most expensive months to fly from N. America, in Thailand you also have some of the most expensive hotel rooms at that time too!

When I fly to the US from Thailand I always stick with the same airline so I can accumulate more bonus miles for future free flights. If you intend to fly often overseas or have already established a frequent flier program with an airline company you might consider flying with an airline that honors that card.

Good luck. Reply to this

I use sidestep and kyak for the long haul flights. Don't forget to factor in the freaquent flyer miles.

China Air has been consistantly the cheapest flights to Bangkok from the west coast in the USA . They have updated there planes and you can get short layover now in Taipei.

I wrote a page on it but the snippers will delete it, sorry for the tease, maybe you can send me email and I can send you the link on my cheap charlies site. Reply to this
