Help! need help to find out how to book train from Mumbi to Goa! have looked at Konkan railways but fould it confusing as I dont know the names of the stations etc.
also how long does the journey take?
any help or advise would be useful

You can also buy the tickets at the train station in Mumbai. If you do this, be sure to buy them as much in advance as you can, because they sell out.
I dont know if the following is the website you tried to buy the tickets on. If not, then you could try it to see if it is less confusing.

I dont know how long exactly the train would take, but certainly an all night or all day journey.

Reply to this Jackie gave u the right website. Just register there and u r ready to buy tickets online. It takes around 12hours (+/- 2 hr) depends on the train route and delays. The cost for a SL 2nd class is 288 INR , but there are many trains going daily on that route. I did check connections from Mumbai Central (BCT code) to madgaon (mao code). Check out also this topic
