I am planning a road trip out East in August this summer. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a travel guide they have used for Atlantic Canada (to include Nova Scotia, PEI, Nfld, and NB)? I have been looking at the Lonely Planet (however last published in 2007), Frommer, Fodor and Moon. Which one is best? Thanks
Reply to this In 2007, we drove our motorhome with tow car to New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia. Wow, we LOVED it! We didn't make it to Newfoundland, but friends of ours did and reported that it was well worth the trip. We used friends' recommendations on where to stay, things to do and see. We also picked up wonderful maps and a Visitors Guide from the New Brunswick Visitors Center just across the border from Houlton, Maine. We were amazed at the qualify of this FREE stuff. The maps were terrific. We also found the same on PEI and Nova Scotia.
I just Googled New Brunswick's tourism bureau and found: http://tourismnewbrunswick.ca
You can request a Visitors Guide be mailed to you. I'll bet the other provinces can mail them too.
Have a great summer.......we did.
Reply to this Thanks so much! That is a good idea about getting visitor guides mailed.
