I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter.

What are your plans for Easter?

I am having my son and his family over. I can't wait to spend time with the grand babies.

Hello Lee Ann 😊

Me, my boyfriend and daughter are going to stay at home and eat lots of chocolate.

That is a fun age. When my daughter turned 12, a friend turned to me and said, "Take extra time to talk to her for the next 3 years. If you can make that relationship at that age she will be your friend for life." The woman has 16 children and the oldest 3 daughters entered the convent. I think she knows what she is talking about. I took the advice and my 18 year old and I have a very good relationship. Reply to this

I will certainly heed that advise. Taking time to talk with them these days is especially essential with all the wierd stuff that goes on in society. Parents have to watch and listen out for all kinds. One never knows what they will be exposed to even on just a visit the neighbours house. Kids dont get to be innocent for long.... Reply to this

I think back to how good it was when I was young. I grew up on an Indian Reservation in the NE corner of Montana. We would go out in the summer and play long into the night - Mom never had to worry. Considering that sundown was after 9:30pm at night, that is saying a great deal. But the memories of going out and playing ditch or kick the can with my friends ... I can't say enough for it. Today children are hemmed in by worry. If they step out of line at all they are smacked down to a point that they cannot grow. I was so frustrated when my boys were young. They wanted to skateboard, but because of all the law suites no one would allow them to ride in their parking lots and we don't have any skate parks. I do fear for our youth. Reply to this

That is exactly what I am dispairing about for my daughter too.

What was living on an Indian reservation like? I have never been on one. Are people who are not Indian allowed to visit the reservations?

Hi Lee,

Love you comments on Message 5....that's a great advise...no that we don't know about it, but it's always a great reminder!

Happy Easter from Shanghai...and spring is back here too!

Easter is a non-event in Japan - but then again, what is the point of travel or living in another country if you are always trying to recreate home :-)

I do have a Cadbury chocolate bar from New Zealand though which I'm saving for Sunday :-P Reply to this

Hi,

Same thing in Shanghai...but you still can get the eggs...well...they have the egg hunt at the White House, it's the same for us...we hunt the few shops who may have them... Reply to this

We are in Xi'an, China at the moment, no Easter Eggs to be found here. My little boys' grandparents are stocking up on them at home for a belated Easter when we arrive home in a few weeks time! Reply to this

If they get them next week Terry-Ann, they'll probably be half price ;-) Reply to this

Yes, good thought! Although we live in a small village in the middle of no where, so stocks tend to run low if you don't get in there fast! Reply to this

Nice photo, Mell. Your daughter looks absolutely delighted with her treasure :-)

I live in Belgium so you can imagine the chocolate is coming out of my ears by now. Think I'll treat myself to an ice cream instead :-)

Happy Easter to all! Reply to this

Wow want a stash! I went out and bought candy for my grand babies and forgot to read the inexpedience. The youngest we are finding has an allergy to corn. All of the candy I bought had corn syrup in it, so I could not put it out for them. I was so bummed! Reply to this

We attended the White House Easter Egg Roll again this year; it's turning into a tradition for us...along with going to church and getting Easter baskets. Reply to this
