BBC Report

An 18-year-old has secretly painted a 60ft drawing of a phallus on the roof of his parents' £1million mansion in Berkshire. It was there for a year before his parents found out. They say he'll have to scrub it off when he gets back from travelling.

There were 2 old nuns who used to often visit my parents house and drink all their brandy and whiskey. My parents used to bring back some cheap paint stripper type alcholic drinks when they went on holiday and offer it to the nuns as an exciting new drink to try, but really to prevent the nuns emptying all my parents bottles of good brandy and whiskey at a speed that caused not enough to be left for other guests and my parents.

One day when I was 20 a school friend visited whiile I was at my parents house. I had just been in Greece as part of my trip accross Europe. I wanted my friend to try Ouzo that people like to drink in Greece. My parents had just brought a bottle of it home from holiday for the nuns. I poured a shot of it for me and my friend. Then another. We drank around half the bottle between us. My parents would not like that. I decided to top the bottle up with water. I had forgotten about how Ouzo turns white when water is added. I tipped the lot down the sink and refilled the bottle with water and put it back in my parents drinks cabinet. Then off I went to London for a month.

A few months later my mother told me that the nuns drank all the Ouzo and she and my father only found out later that it was not Ouzo. She said they were very embarassed. Reply to this

That's a great story Mell and one many, many kids have experience with. I've definitely done my share of drink then fill with water at both my parents and other parents liquor cabinets. Thankfully I never tried it with Ouzo...

I'm not sure how my parents would have reacted to a 60 foot penis drawing...I'm sure not well!!

I did leave my dog with my parents when Kel and I did our trip. They came to visit us in France and my Mom at dinner one night says, "So, what kind of dog are you getting when you come home..." They decided they liked Catfish too much to give him back... Reply to this

Do one before your next trip and find out. 😉

My daugher keeps asking me about bad things I did when I was a kid. Hopefully she is not looking for inspiration. :D

When I am on a plane out of Munich, I try to figure out which appartment building below is mine. I am never sure if I guessed the right one. If I painted a huge penis on the roof it would help a lot. Too late for tomorrows flight, because I have no paint and the shops are already closed for the day. Maybe before the next trip! Hopefully nobody will notice because I wouldnt want to have to scrub it off when I get back. Reply to this

Mel - That is my favorite game to play when I'm flying out of my home-town (or a place I've stayed in long enough to be geographically familiar with)! Thus far I've been successful in locating where I grew up (my parent houses') as well as my apartment in Seattle, and a loft and dorms where I lived in Lexington, KY. I definitely did it without the help of a giant phallic painting.

Never left anything particularly interesting with relatives when I've gone - other than pets. Although I like the idea of leaving messages with a loved one, particularly if you'll be gone for a long period of time. Reply to this
