Greeting fellow travelers,
I am stealing my boyfriend away from the US, we are quitting our jobs and leaving in August for Northern Africa.
I would like to connect with other travelers who have similar experiences.
Here is my first question-
1. How does one begin, we would like to start with one way tickets and obtain visas along the way. I have goggled but not found a response. Only that many countries need an entry and exit ticket. How have others found information along the way, what have you done?

We are thinking Morocco, Senegal to Timbuktu, friends in Cameroon, perhaps to south africa then friends in Madagascar, north to Ethiopia, then Egypt, Israel, Jordan, India, Vietnam

but everything remains open, we still have a few months to decide

we have no time limits, just when money and visas run dry

thanks,
d

Hello Darlene 😊

Many countries do need an entrance and exit ticket, but they dont often ask to see it at the immigration. As a foreigner they will likely just give you the visa or visitor stamp and wave you on.

Thanks for your reply Mel!
Specifically, I am wondering how people (i am a US citizen) can fly into Morocco and plan to travel, not knowing where they will be. Even with a RTW ticket, how do you show the Moroccon border that you will be traveling onward to say direction Cameroon. Would a ticket from Cameroon to Madagascar work?
What if I want to fly from Madagascar to Kenya, would kenya need to see an exit ticket, what if I then want to go overland?
I know this might sound like silly questions, but I am really perplexed at how to get on.
Thanks again Mel,

Not silly at all. I would be asking all those things, if I was going on a big Africa trip. Reply to this
