Itinerary help
15 years ago, November 6th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #53611
Is 24 days enough time to hit up these destinations, landing in Trichy - Manduri - Valkerra - cochin - Mysore - Bangalore - Hampi and then back down to Trichy (stopping somewhere)))

If not what would be a good route or itinerary and amount of time, keeping in mind the weather in May. Reply to this

My south india trip is gna take about 2 months, basically seeing the same things as you + a little beach holiday close to gokarn and some time in 2 national parks. So I guess if you hassle a bit, you should be fine.
Whereas for the backwaters: the 'normal' route for the tours is apparently from kollam to allapuzah or vice a versa. You can either get a short boat trip for 3-4 hours or a longer one of about 8 hours. Im going there from cochin.. hope this was a bit helpful. Reply to this

i dno what to cut out, it depends on what your preferences are.. I'd leave mysore, cochin, hampi and the backwaters on. haven't heard of valkerra and manduri so don't know. If I were you, I'd drop bangalore - haven't heard too many good things about it and I think a couple of more days in Hampi or the backwaters would be nicer.
The Indian south has 2 monsoons as far as I know and one of them starts in June, the other one's later in the year.

what im doing: Hampi - Badami - Gokaran - Halebid/Belur - Mysore - Nagarhole Ntnl Park - Cochin/Ernakulam - Backwaters (Kollam to Allappuzah) - Kottayam (for transition only) - Periyar Wildlfe reserve - Trichy.

Ive checked out the traveling possibilities from and to these cities so i guess this might help a bit. Reply to this
