Is my budget enough?

Hi, My name is Oli and I will be travelling from mid January

I have done some traveling before but this will be my first solo travels

I will have a budget of about £4000 ($7000) after flights (allowing £1500 for flights from uk and travel insurance etc) (Total £5,500) ($9625), this includes a £2000 loan from my Sister
I cannot get any additional credit from a bank etc so if I go bust I have to fly home 😞

I would definatly like to visit China ( I have a Chinese friend from Uni here who will travel with me for 2 of 3-4 weeks), Thailand and Sri Lanka (been here for a wedding and would love to see and do some of the things I didnt get to)

I have no idea how much any of this or these places will cost, and am looking for some ideas

My plan so far is to visit China for 3-4 weeks, visit Thailand, and Sri Lanka, and ... ???
I have as long as I want to travel

Basically as someone new to solo travel I have little idea of how much to budget for these countries and where else is whithin my budget range

I am happy to stay in hostels etc and dont need a ridgid plan just a rough guideline to help me prepere

Is $7000 enough for these countries, can I afford to add more destinations?

Thankyou for any advise Reply to this

Hey stilts

ive got no idea about these countries, but (just for comparison) as a traveller in india you can get by using 20 quid each day (10 or less for food+drink, 10 for a night in a hotel) .. travelling by train in india ia quite cheap as well if you stick to the non - ac/first class.

i guess it will be alike in sri lanka.. but i would watch out as the govt is fighting the tamil rebels quite extensively atm!

I think that thailand might cost a bit more (china as well) as it's very touristy in areas (like goa or puri in india me thinks)

I went to Thailand with my daugher a couple of times last year for a month each time. We spent 500 Euros each time between us for the month. Thailand can be very inexpensive but it can also be expensive. Convenience is available in Thailand at a price.
