SEEMS this topic has cooled down...

Why does Gmail seem to go down so much? I think it's because they don't know what they are doing. They sure do have terrible taste in design. Almost everything they do looks like crap and barely works, what has happened to the promised land Google was so all over as they were going public. All the media fanfaire is hot air and so are the so called solutions they put out. There is something wrong with Google!

They are the new kid on the block and should watch out as they add themselves to the list of options every other company already has and does so well. They should ask themselves why something like Gmail is so needed and make it as needed as possible.

Of course I still use Gmail but for the first time in a year I am looking elsewhere for 99.9% up time and I am pleasantly reminded how awesome Yahoo has always been all along. Only once at 5 am were they down and that was years ago and they manage to allow so much more in a quick interface that you can easily use the back button with, etc etc etc...

You have all been warned!!

well, i'm not sure that were using the same gmail from what you say!!

The only problems I ever experienced with gmail was the occassional hanging when I've sent an email or clicked reply ... but nothing major ... just 10 seconds or so ... and then if I've clicked on the same thing again it's gone through straight away as normal ... not once have I experienced any other kind of crashes with gmail and I've used it at all times of the day ... and night.

As for the layout ... well that comes to personal taste, and for me gmail is easy on the eye, easy to learn to use, and nothing new confuses me and if it does google always has easy ways of explaining things...

I'm not one to go looking for 99.9% up time because I live in a real world .... I'm aware that companies have problems etc and no one is perfect .... and if they do have down time, I'm not bothered because in the end it's FREE .... and anything that is as good as gmail and is FREE I am going to be the last person to complain!

I haven't used Yahoo email as I have no need to, Gmail fulfills all my desires for FREE email .... until that changes I'm sticking with GOD ... AHEM! I mean Google! ;o) Reply to this

Savage must have used up almost all his invites by now so I'll jump in here too. I've got 15 gmail invites left still - so if you want the best free web-based email - just post your current email address. I'm the Will half of the MacCallums by the way...

Hi guys. I also have about 99 invites left (yes, sad I know). Just message me your email address & I'll invite anyone that wants to join up with gmail. Have been using it for over a year & have had no problems so far. Awesome to have all that space to store your messages.
Cheers,
Toni 😊 Reply to this
