What sports can I see in June/July in the US?

I'm traveling to the States next June/July and will be there for a month. What sports are the yanks playing in those months? I'd LOVE to see some baseball/basketball/ice hockey/ NFL but I don't know which months they're in season.

Thanks folks :D

You'll be arriving right in time for baseball season. Basketball will be finishing up (or already be over) and the NFL doesn't start up until later in the year. Ice hockey I'm not sure about quite honestly. Still, they'll be lots of baseball being played. Reply to this

Awesome! How do you go about getting tickets? Must you book weeks ahead of the game to secure a spot? Or can you buy tickets at the gate? We're staying in NYC for 10 days so if the Yankees play while we're there that would be awesome! Reply to this

You can order them online and pick them up at the gate, or you could wait until you arrive and get them from the box-office. For the Yankees I would probably suggest booking them ahead of time because they are not only very popular with their local fans but also lots of visitors want to see them play as well. Doesn't look like the 2009 schedule is posted on their website yet, but I would check back earlier next year. Reply to this

Regarding getting the tickets...it completely depends on what city/team you'll be interested in and what day of the week it is. Many teams have tickets easily available at any time up until the game starts. Others might be sold out...but you almost always can find some from people selling outside of the stadium before the game.

Two of the best classic baseball stadium destinations/experiences include Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs) and Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox). There are many newer stadiums that are great places to see a game as well. Reply to this
