Hi Lorna,

Yes, Sabah is infact among the best places in Malaysia for travellers to get upclose and personal with the wildlife in their natural habitat. Aside from outdoor activities and underwater experiences, Sabah has plenty of things to offer - you just need to know exactly what you're interested in.

Sepilok Orang Utan Centre is located on the east coast of Sabah, the gateway to the Turtle Islands Park . You can also opt for Sukau along the Kinabatangan River where most of the Proboscis monkeys, silver tail macaques, pygmy elephants and other exotic birds comes out to play. Exploring the Gomantong Caves on the ways of bird nest harvesting is also another good choice as well as the English Tea house for that pure English ambience with a romantic touch.

If you're comparing Mt Kinabalu over the Himalayas, then Mt. Kinabalu is peanuts, literally. The only thing you need to bear in mind is your stamina - just as any other adrenaline mountain activites. So do build it up before attempting on scalling Mt. K at 4,093 metres (if I'm not mistaken) compared to the Himalayas with double the height.

Which ever your choices may be, rest assured that you've chosen the right playground for your Sabah-Malaysian Borneo adventure experience.

Welcome to Sabah!

I recommend, if u can scuba dive, go to semporna and try to dive sipidan. Just did it and it was amazing! Semporna town isnt all that, but the scuba diving is world class!

Around sepilok you can also do jungle trips along the kilibatangon river which was awesome for seeing lots of wildlife, take a good camera! I did Uncle tans jungle experience and was awesome! Reply to this
