Hi all, going to Kota Kinabalu maybe 2 weeks from now from Singapore. Anyone know whats the cheapest way to get to KK and how many days minimum i must have to and fro if i want to climb to the peak of KK. Thanks for the help.
Reply to this Hi Samuel,
I would vouch for
Airasia as ticket fares are reasonably prices if you purchase online in advance. 1 week should be enough for you to cover the main attractions of KK; Mt. Kinabalu, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Islands off KK City, rafting and other outdoor activities (window-shopping, perhaps?). Plan your trip in advance and accordingly - extreme activities first and then end your itinerary with a relaxed ambient so you can fully recharge. Hope this helps.
Terima Kasih!
Reply to this hey hi, i grow up in singapore and now living in sabah. the cheapest way is to take airasia from johor. silkair and malaysia airline fly directly from singapore. u must at least take 3 days 2 nights if u wanna climb mt kinabalu, but u have to book at least 1 mth in advance as it's always fully book. If u want to enjoy nice resorts with beautiful beaches, I'll recommend u Nexus or Shangri-la's Rasa Ria. You should visit Pulau Sapi which is near to the city, pedas water rafting and to watch the proboscis and fireflies.
There are alot of very nice islands and places, but they are quite a distance from the city.
Reply to this The climbing may be 2-3 days... Hehe...not sure but i refer to this website to get the info...

Reply to this Climb can be done in a 2d/1n. Day 1; depart 0600hrs for kinabalu park hq, register upon arrival. Proceed to timpohon gate - starting point - by 5min van ride. Ascend to laban rata where you'll spend the night (4-6hrs depending on individual stamina). Day 2; 0300hrs ascend to the summit (1-2hrs depending on individual stamina). After enjoying the view, back track to timpohon gate, laban rata enroute. Tour companies normally sell 3d/2n package but you can still opt for 2d/1n but on your own arrangement, or othewise.
(I'm replying on my mobile, hence the direct simplicity of the details).
All the best!
Reply to this charlie76 are you working in the tour agency there?
Reply to this Hey tyan, I used to be a full time "tourism player" myself but at this moment with my new endeavor, somehow I'm still directly involved with this particular industry. Talk about tourism as still being my forte!
Cheers!
