I will be traveling to Japan in August of this year. I will be staying with a friend for a couple days. Then heading for Fukushima to stay with her parents. What type of clothing would be appropriate. They will most likely be more conservative in dress and I don't want to offend.

im in kyoto right now...everyone is in regular western clothing. i have not seen any japanese ladies wearing shorts or tank tops and such but western girls and tourists do it and no one seems to have a problem. right now japan is extremely hot and humid and i can only imagine august will be worse...so if i were you i would plan on shorts and stuff Reply to this
