I'm only 18 and fresh out of school but because so much has changed this year anyway i feel i might as well go for a bigger change. When travelling locally i have only met people who are in their 20's and some in their 30's. Will i be out of place and find it difficult to make friends? None of my friends can join me due to work, university or relationship commitments. I really want to meet fun people and do something exciting for once but is it a wonderful idea or just plain ludicrous?? Would love some honest opinions! Reply to this

Hello EB 😊

Where is it that you are going?
I dont think you are too young. I left home which was a village in Ireland and moved to London, England when I was 19. I worked there for around 9 months and then spent around 4 months travelling around East and West Europe. I met lots of people my age. The only thing that made me feel a bit left out is that I was the only one who had not yet had any travel experience at all. All the other 19 and 20 year olds I lived with in London had already done at least some travelling. In fact it was they who gave me the inspiration to start backpacking myself.

Good day E.B.

For me 18 is not too young to go anywhere. Like me after High school I went everywhere and explore. Yes its true from the start it’s hard to make friends older than you, but when you can’t start making friends older than you and know their actions and their attitudes then by the time you can meet another older it easy for you to make friends with them because you have tried once. Believe me it's not hard to mingle older than your age.

Best wishes
Stephania

I would say 'go for it , what r u waiting for?' 😊 Don't worry too much about making friends etc. If you think too much, then you make it difficult. Take it easy.

Im 20 and studying at college in Turkey. A week later i'll be in Germany backpacking myself and visiting my friend, cousin there. I'll have so much spare time and have no idea how to make friends. I make somehow though. (I like random stuff.) I'm sure it turn out well 'cause it always does.

It is not a plain ludicrous and 18 is not too young to trip independently !! I was 18 when i did my first visit to Italy. It wass soo muchhh funn.!! To tell the truth, when you make friends it gets so much better.! In my opinion, people should come out of their shells and experience new things especially when they are young.

HOPEfully, my opinions are helpful EB 😊
