start of the carnival

another miserable start to the day so we have decided togo to casablanca which is the centre of the wine industry in chile. it was only 40 km away so afetr a nice breakfast in the dining room on the top floor we set off for casablanca.
nothing special really so we had a ride out to algarrobos which is an up and coming area and it was really nice seaside town, apparently its the fastest growing area around here and it was quite a sight, the beach was ok apart from the fact they had a full time staff just pulling the huge jellyfish out of the sea and chucking them in the road, they didnt look to friendly i have to say and persuaded me not to take a dip.
the wineries are huge and to be honest we have had some really good local wines this week and the chilean wines i have had at home werent anything special so i dont know why, rose has been told that the additives in the wine here make her ill but she has been ok so far,
we are back to santiago tomorrow and off to buenos aires on tuesday
