we had a lunchtime flight so had a couple of hours round the pool and got to the airport at about 1.15 for the 2.15 flight back to b/a ... only a 1 1/2 flight back but we circled the airport for 45 minutes before we could land so it seemed forever, we got back to the hotel and changed for our last dinner out as we have decided to call it a day and get away in the morning back to blighty, a very pleasant dinner and a couple of drinks and we were ready to call it a day. whilst we had been away they had had some strange weather in buenos aires, 40 degrees two days before but it was absolutely pouring down when we got back and had been for 24 hours. ... read more

got up and had breakfast and got the bus back to the park, our ticket yesterday meant we could get in for 1/2 price today and also there was a slow eco boat-ride back from the devils throat that was included in the boat ride. we got the small train up to diablo station and then made our way along the walkways towards the devils throat, we stopped at a few vantage points along the way but nothing can prepare you for the sight of the falls at devils throat, they are huge and you could stand there all day looking at them, the guide told us that the amount of water going over the edge at the moment was 1700-2000 cubic metres per second, in october they had 12000 cubic metres per second flowing over ... read more

had to be out by 6.45 as we had a 8.15 flight to iguazu falls, we got to the airport ok as its almost in the centre of the city, we had already booked in online but still had to put the bag in the hold as it had shampoos etc in, which seems such a waste, does that mean people with only hand luggage dont wash ?? we arrived in igauzu ay about 10 and got a cab straight to the hotel,we chucked the bags in the room and made straight for iguazu national park. we got a cab to the park and the cab driver insisted he knew what the best thing to do at the falls was. I had already made my mind up that we were going to have a stroll around ... read more

absolutely baking again today so we have decided to visit the huge lido in the north of town in the park area. we caught a cab and it took us along the front between the river plate and the airport. quite an experience getting in, we got turned away as we had visited the medical area, so back we went to the medical area, you had to have a shower and then the doctor checks your feet to make sure you are ok to go in, rose wasnt happy as some of the people seemed to having a nit test in their hair, which was nice, when we finally got in we queued up and rented a brolly and some loungers, the place must have had 2-3000 people in and the water at its deepest was about ... read more

another scorching day today, the papers were saying that it was going to get up to 97. bit too much for me, rose wanted to do some shopping so after breakfast we went down to florida street which is the main shopping area had a drink and i left her to it. i headed off up corrientes which is one of the older areas in town, quite a good place to explore but to be fair its so hot and humid after a couple of hours you are glad to get back inside into the air conditioning. we went back around the cemetario for dinner, there are quite a few nice restaurants around the area and its buzzy so you can have a few beers whilst strolling around and we settled on one of the old ... read more

had to be out of the hotel this morning as we are moving over to val paraiso, the weather was poor when we got up as it has been a few times since we got here, it starts off bad and then the sun comes out around lunchtime. we had booked a boutique hotel for a couple of days and when we got to the hotel it was fantastic, right at the top of the hill overlooking the bay, the town is built on very steep hills all looking down onto the sea, and the hills are so steep there is the vernicular (??) cars to take you up. the town is a world heritage site because of the english and german architecture, my grandad told me about the alterations the germans did to our architecture ... read more

got up this morning and rose decided she wanted to have a look round so i plotted a route that would take in the local sights, this place is very very grand, we are in one of the posh areas, quite near the french embassy (when did they put blue and red in their flag). the shops are very very snobby but look to be good value, hand made shoes etc. they also have proper polo shops with all the gear in. it is so hot that walking around is unbearable, we spent a few hours this afternoon planning our trip to iguazu falls which is up north on the border with brazil and paraguay. its a 2 hour flight and we are going up sunday morning for 2 nights, bit of a shame as boca ... read more

had to be out sharpish as we had a 7.30 flight to buenos aires. flight went off without delay and we arrived at the hotel at about 12.15. the only holdup was protesters blocking the main road in town causing a detour, apparently they are various mainly left wingers who want to be involved in the political process but are being squeezed out, a very scary bunch as the majority wore masks and carried clubs etc, the fat fucker in the picture was strolling around with a baseball bat, he made bob crow look ok even though we know hes a complete c&%t as well. anyway we unpacked and went for a stroll, we came across the cemetario where eva peron is interred, the place is fascinating, the place is huge and thetombs are very grand, ... read more
