Another Qantas mistake turns out well

Just a quick hello for family ect.Was supposed to leave early morning April 20 but somehow a blow up raft with gas bottle went missing from luggage storage.Noone knew if it had been put on our plane or the Melbourne plane.They had to unload all the luggage but there were no baggage handlers working that late to screen the luggage.They handed out forms and said to wqrite a forwarding address for them to send bags.I said I was changing planes ,in Sydney, for Peru.They said they couldn´t guarantee delivery so I would have to get off plane and organise other flight.
Another guy ,Andrew, came up to me and said he was also going to Peru ,on my flights, so we joined forces.Eventually they got us on flights the next day and I convinced them to upgrade us to Buisness Class on the Sydney flight.It turned out to be not a bad turn of events becouse Andrew and I ended up travelling together and the 36hours was alot less boring than it would have been.
So long story short Í´m in Lima now.I´m off to Huaraz on Saturday ,the 1st stage of journey to Ecuador ,so should be able to post more interesting blog next week.Cya all PAUL
