We saw a lot in Lima, we were somehow missing only historic centre, just flew through and today there was no other way than go and see it before our departure to Pisco. The alarm clock woke us up at 7.30, but we stayed in bed till 8.In front of our hotel is a majestic Church of St. Francis with its catacombs and pigeons that i fed using some stale bread - nothing is wasted...Then we headed to the main square that is called like in any other town in Peru Plaza de Armas and it looked like something is going on...lots
of cops, soldiers...in the end it wasa a speech of president Garcia to the elderly promising good times ahead. We also crossed to a dangerous quarter, but it didnt seem dangerous at all - during the day, saw a few more churches, had a delicious fruit juice so before 12 we made it back to our hotel to check out. We took a taxi /unusual for us/ and through the manic traffic we catched the bus to Pisco heading down the south via Panamericana where we got off and had to get to actual Pisco. We took a taxi again and invited one young Englishwoman to join us cos she was just robbed while getting off the same bus like us, having no money we paid the whole fare - but we have help each other, dont we??In Pisco the accomodation is expensive, but luckily on 3rd attempt and a lot of negotiation we managed to find a room for 35 soles /3soles-1us dollar/, special discount from 60 including free net, washing, use of kitchen, billiard and even own pool - how cool is that!!! We did some shopping in a local supermarket only encountering another crazy rule - u
cant buy a beer without having another empty bottle to give in exchange - how byrocratic...or sad...so we played the pool at least.
