bleugh!!!

altitude sickness is horrible!!! I haven't actually got sick yet but sure feel like I want to in the evenings!!!! I also fall asleep repeatedly at 8pm and could eat all day, never go anywhere without a bottle of water!!!

So anyways, started my first placement today with streetchildren, who don't actually live in the streets, just work on the, and not in a bad way either!! Their parents work in the markets nearby and when the children don't helpout, they are in with us. I was only there for three hours, got mauled with hugs when I arrived!! I played with the small children and played chess with the older ones, who also attempted to teach me spanish!!

We started spanish lessons last night so just need to practice everyday. Yesterday after lunch we were taken on a city tour and were shown all the places to go including the aptly named Gringo Plaza. Then we saw another bullfight although this time we were in a tent right next to the plaza...survived alright, one of the volunteers even went into the plaza at run against the bull!!

We had this afternoon off thank god, I needed the siesta!! Tomorrow I go to my second placement with special needs children and adults with mental health issues- should be interesting!!! Then we will be taken on a tour to wari ruins (pre-inca) and a local artisan village, followed by more spanish lessons!!

well, since i doubt anyone but you knows the difference between canoeing and kayaking, gagi may well be doing one or the other. i'll be on bebo on the weekend, i hope, if i can kick evin off for five seconds...though that has been made slightly easier by the fact that he got road-rash jailbreak for the playstation. y'know, the one with the sidecars we used to have. yeah. that one. it's back. evin has taken on the persona of a five-year-old with a new toy, not that there's any much difference from his usual self...he insists that i play with him at every opportune moment, and un-opportune moments...he even wants me to forget about my homework or just not go to school so i can play with him. *shudder*. well, not much else going on that mammy hasn't already touched on in the omment she was writing before i kicked her off the computer...sooooooo...asta la vista, orla. xxx :P
