Well! What an action packed few days it has been!

I arrived fine, but tired in Lima on Monday and got a taxi from the airport to the hotel without a hitch and without being overly ripped off...(which was a suprise, it must have been my fantastic spanish that suprised the Taxi Driver so much he charged me the normal rate!!!)

Slept well and met my new roomie for the next three weeks, Frankie, from Vancouver is here with her sister and brother-in-law, they are retired teachers and great fun, I have been taken on as a surrogate daughter for the trip, which is really lovely and i get to find out lots about living in Canada at the same time as learning about Peru!!!

The first day we had a walk and a tour around Lima, there are some nice places there, but it is pretty much as any other big city, except there´s a casino on every corner!

That evening we took the evening bus to Pisco, unfortunately there isn´t much to see except the devastation folloing the earthquake they had there last year which knocked down a large number of buildings and killed 700
IcaIcaIca

The vineyard where Pisco is produced
of the 15000 people who lived there.

From Pisco we traveled a short distance to Ica, where the Pisco brandy is made and tried a couple of Pisco Sours, it could possibly be my new favourite drink, (excluding lager obviously!) Having been given a little "dutch courage" we went in a sand buggy through the sand dunes not far by and offered the opportunity to go sand surfing, i had a go which was great fun!

We then made our way on a night bus to Nazca to see the infamous Nazca lines, they were absolutely super, but I felt as sick as a dog after as the little plane was veering from side to side!

From Nazca we are going to Puno to see Lake Titikaka

Apologies on the lack of photos, Peru is not quite as up-to-date on its computer systems as equaor was, it took me about an hour to download the photos I have!

Well take care for now and shall ry and up date this when I can find a decent compueter,

Take care for now,

Lorna xxxx

Hi Miss Globe Trotter :o). You don't know how jealous I am of you at the moment. I'm really busy at work and to top it off I'm slowly getting fatter and fatter!! I've got my 21 week scan next week so I'll email you a picture (and hopefully I can tell if baby is a boy or girl). Sand buggying and surfing sounds good, you'll have to show me how it's done on Margate beach when you get home. Annie xxx
