Apologies for the long gap in messages, it's been a rollercoaster couple of weeks, not to mention the lack of decent internet facilities in NT.... Having spent a lovely couple of days around Coolangatta, I moved on to Brisbane, up early I caught a bus and a train up to Brisbane, was very pleased how smoothly it all went, checked into the Hostel by 12pm and went walking round as I just had the one day to look round! I started of from the hostel, made my way to the Brisbane Wheel and had a look at the city from higher [View Full Entry]

Well that's the hard work over and done with! My last work was indeed a hard slog, not so much the work... although the week was varied, including planting, mulching and watering at Cape Schank, near the lighthouse on Monday Afternoon. Tuesday was spent pulling out huge quantities of ivy from a wonderful national reserve park in Rosebud, and we went to Arthurs seat at Lunchtime giving fabulous views of the sea and the town below us, which was beautiful. I confess I took a sicky on Wednesday, as was feeling very run down and worn out on Wednesday, but then [View Full Entry]

Well hello! After a week and a half trying to find an internet cafe in Geelong or Warrnabool, I have finally managed it! (Good business plan for anyone looking to move to Auz.. they don't have internet cafes!) It was an interesting first week, my work was based in Warrnabool so we stayed in the Beach Backpackers just on the coast, which was an experience in itself... it would be nice to have a room to myself again for a change!!! The week was very interesting although not really enough work to keep us going unfortunately... however we were working along [View Full Entry]

I wish I knew for sure what day of the week it is... I think its Sunday, but the jet lag has been pretty horrid this week, since I last messaged I have traveled 15 hours from Peru to Heathrow had a 15 hour lay-over ( which was fantastic! :o)) and then 24 hours of traveling to Melbourne. By the time all this was done I was shattered... but I did get to fly on one of the new A380 double decker planes which was pretty cool! Anyway... here I am in Melbourne, well I'm now in Geelong to be precise, [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone, Apologies for the delay, its been a very busy couple of weeks on the tour and so its been difficult to get anywhere near a computer for more than 1/2 hour at a time and then impossible to find one thats capable of downloading photos! So this message is an amalgamation of the Peru trip... I hope I explain it all OK! So, its been a busy couple of weeks! So from Nazca we continued South to Puno and Lake Titicaca, we spent the day hiking around a smaller island on the lake and being shown the local traditions, [View Full Entry]

Well! What an action packed few days it has been! I arrived fine, but tired in Lima on Monday and got a taxi from the airport to the hotel without a hitch and without being overly ripped off...(which was a suprise, it must have been my fantastic spanish that suprised the Taxi Driver so much he charged me the normal rate!!!) Slept well and met my new roomie for the next three weeks, Frankie, from Vancouver is here with her sister and brother-in-law, they are retired teachers and great fun, I have been taken on as a surrogate daughter for the [View Full Entry]

Hi Guys, Well here we are, my final blog from Ecuador, I finished at the reserve on Friday, so I have spent the weekend wandering around the Market in Otavalo and in about an hour I shall be making my way back to Quito before my flight tomorrow to Peru! I am very excited about Peru, although a little worried as my rucksack is really heavy, I canīt figure out what it is, I would nīt mind, but after loosing 1/2 my clothes on the bus a few weeks back, having used most of my shampoo and shower-gel, and eaten all [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! Apologies for the lack of messages over the last week, unfortunately I had my first brush with dodgy food and was very poorly over the weekend! However you will be pleased to know that I am back on form and ready to up-date you all on my activities of the last two weeks, so sit back with a cuppa as I think this will be a long email! So I got back from a good weekend at the beach (except the mossies!) The week was a short one the main activities of the week were weeding the vegetable patch [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! Well I have got through my first week without too much trouble! So Wednesday I went to the Equator, which was a smidge commercial, but I expected it to be! Yes they did do the water turning different ways, but my Lonely Planet book spoilt it a bit as they recon its a bit of a gimmic, still I have the film to show it worked! So from the ecuator onto my project on Wednesday, luckily I had a guide all the way to the reserve I would never have found my way, but Manuelle looked after me! Once [View Full Entry]
