Hola!
Well I have some sad news to report, the youngest baby in the orphanage died on sunday morning. She died in her sleep that not to sure how, so spirits are quiet low at the moment especially the poor tias and even more so with the tia that looks after the babies Sonya. It is very tragic and heart breaking less than 2 weeks ago there were 4 babies, now there are 2. (one got adopted)
Well some happier news, I went with 2 of the other volunteers on sunday to a place called toro muerto (dead bull, we're not to sure as to the relevance of that one) its a place about 160km north of the city. It was a big bolder that had lots of carvings from inca's about 1200 years ago that was broken into millions of pieces after an explosion and is now dispersed over miles of desert. It was really interesting. also at a base of a valley in the desert was the town near that and it had been irrigated, it is really beautiful to see the contrast of the desert and the seriously green landscape. the baby that passed awaya dinosaur foot print, a good few of them, it was a bit of a trek to get up there!!
OK I'm attaching photos from the orphanage, I have more photos but I have yet to get them onto a disc and put them up...but they're coming!!

Hey Madeleine, marny told me you were in Peru so I had to log on and take a peek. Firstly I'm so sorry about Marisella. Poor little soul. I hope you are finding strength in the hard work and joy you are bringing to the orphanage. Well done you on this. Stay safe and keep blogging. Can't wait to read more. Love Claire C
