After yesterdays exhausting day we decided to take it a little bit easy and our plane was to explore the old town. It meant to see lots of old houses in spanich colonial architecture. Churches were always white and it contrasted with the blueness of the sky and the Andes at the back.

We also visited La Compania, supposedly the most beautiful church in Quite, whose interior is covered in seven tons of gold - see photo.

There is some sort of shop on every house ground floor. Interesting thing is that every street is dedicated to a different type of merchandise - tiles seemed the most popular item on one street followed by furniture on the other one and stuff for plumber on the next. It easily meant that you could find 15 shops with same products one next to each other.

Also we managed to get a gas bomb for our cooker - what a great news. Now we can make ourselves a cooked breakfast or a decent hot meal when we are trekking.

Our day finished in La Carolina park and on the paddling boats as proper tourists.
