Moi! Niinkuin varmaat useimmat ovat kuulleet, niin taalla Kolumbiassa armeija paasti paivilta yhden FARC guerilla-joukon ykkoshepuista. Well needless to say it´s been an adventures few weeks. San Jose was a lot different than I remember it from 8 years ago. A lot more cosmopolitan. Did some good shopping and some good wandering. But after a few days, started to get the beach urge again. Made my way to Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side. It is amazing just how different the Caribbean is from the Pacific, visually and culturally. Stayed at this cool but very crowded hostel called rocking J´s. Okay, so it looks like I ruffled some feathers with my last post. Through messages, (which I choose to not post....and encourage a flame war) I was accused of being ethnocentric, biased, unChristian and angry. So I will address those dissenters in this post. I'm sorry I haven't updated this in nearly a month. So much goes on, that its hard to sit down and just organize my thoughts and write them into a coherent narrative. But let me try... As a school, we traveled out of the mountains and into the rainforest. It was a little worrisome at first, as we were traveling into paramilitary area. Not exactly FARC ground, but really close. Hi, I have arrived in carolina and it is so beautiful. Even better than I remember. There is no internet cafe here but the Cultural Centre has let me use the computers. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Now I am going to find an hotel now and probably stay a couple of nights. I have spoken to Jesus, the friend I used to know when I lived here, and I am going to see him on friday night. I am extremely happy and very excited about staying up here in the bush.
