Florianopolis - Floripa to those in the know

After one bus, three flights and a taxi (and a couple of close shaves) we arrived in Praia do Santinho in the northern part of the isalnd of Florianopolis. Shamelessly here for the beaches, we were a little dismayed to be met by torrential down pours as we arrived at our pousada (guesthouse) at 1 am. Also that the whole place was shut down, and the taxi driver wanted to get home... Thankfully the next day everything turned around - a very friendly mother/daughter team running the pousada, a delicious breakfast (fruits, breads, cakes and BACON & EGGS!) and a short walk to a glorious, wide, sandy and almost empty beach. This was more like it.

4 days of beaches, windsurfing, messing about in the waves and some amazing seafood. Perfect.
