Punta Punta Punta

An extra day in Uruguay due to travel connections gave us time to get to the legendary Punta Del Este, playgound of rich porteños. Straight off the bus we dropped off bags at the first hostel we saw and were on the beach in half an hour...

Obviously the wrong beach! It was beautiful though, and it was only in the afternoon that we stumbled across a busier beach. Punta is a peninsula with beaches all around - too many to choose from. On any of them a constant stream of thong clad ladies (of all sizes and ages...)stroll on past. An interesting sight, but apparently all the pretty girls were further down the coast.

A few drinks in the evening with Alejandro (an Argentine contact of Jody's) gave him the opportunity to give us all the best information, but us no time to act on it as we were off to Brasil the next day. Oh well, it's a tough life!
