We headed southeast from Sucre and up to Potosi, the highest city in the world. We bunked on the top floor of the Koala Den, which offered good views of the city, and we chilled out here for a couple days. We toured an active silver mine where we crawled down as far as the third level. Working conditions were less than ideal (huge understatement) and we met miners as young as 14. Highlight: blowing up some dynamite - some inspiration to stake a claim and get a blasting permit back home!

The bombs look comical and strange. What were you putting in them? 14 is an age to start in the mine? How long's the life expectancy? Yuk.
