Looking up from the intersection where our hostel is located, most people live way up on the hills surrounding town.
Well we arrived today via a night bus from Santa Cruz, leaving last night at 6:30 and arriving this morning at about 10:00AM. The ride was long, but we splurged for a really good bus and were certainly happy with that decision. I slept fairly well all things considered, and for once, but hopefully not for the last time, I had some excellent leg room. La Paz is awesome so far, it´s nestled in a valley at 3660m above sea level and has some true character. The roads are small and sidewalkless and we found a nice little hostel with a room all to ourselves that even has a little balcony over the street. Today we tried to finalize our Brazil VISA applications but found a small hitch, which if you read Jord´s blog can understand in more detail. Tommorow we head off on the worlds most dangerous highway/road to another town that has a cool hostel with hot tubs and cheap massages. We´re thinking of doing a hike, then heading back east to the salt flats and mines before heading into Brazil or Paraguay. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Lots of pictures to post right now I hope you enjoy!
