Kupili sme si zvazok "dolarov", pani s nimi zamavala nad ohnickom a vraj budeme mat dost penazi cely dalsi rok. Peniaze na prvy poklad vyzeraju pomerne vierohodne, niesme si isty, ale u nas by to uz asi bolo falsovanie. Chvilu pred pol nocou prestala hrat hudba, spustil sa pekny a velky ohnostroj a o 10 minut neskor sa hudba spustila znova. A to bolo vsetko, ziadne odratavanie, objimanie, zelanie stastneho noveho roku, prostne nic. Kupili sme si nejake miestne sampanske, ale bol to hnus, nastastie nas zachranilo vino, to tu maju v Bolivii dobre a to bol koniec nasej novorocnej oslavy.
At about 6 in the morning something started to happen and we started to hope for not having to celebrate New Year on the bus. The bus started to move slowly, carefuly getting through mud, driving around lorries, the road workers showing which way to go and finaly we were free. The rest of the journey wasnt much less dramatic, there were many mud piles / it didnt look like slide, somebody had to put it there/, the bus managed to get through some,
bus sometimes had to reverse and find another way around. Few bits of the road were just two tracks wide enough for tyres. Few times the bus had to go through dry river beds and sometimes they were so steep that conductor had to go out and put stones under the wheels to help the bus to get through. In the end we could finally see Sucre and as a bonus we managed to find a supermarket - first in Bolivia. We are fed up of buying from little shops without prices tags and fridges /selling meat, cheese and so on/ and we enjoyed to be able to buy all our groceries in half an hour. In the evening we went out to check out New Years celebration and we were dissapointed. All the shops /shoes, clothes, groceries/ were open as usual till about 11 pm. People were walking around but to compare it with celebrations in our countries theyve got to learn a lot. We bought a pile of printed "dollars", the lady seller waved with it over the fire and so we are going to have lot of money this year. These money looked at the first sight
quite real, we are not sure, but in Europe it would be probably consider as counterfeiting. Shortly before midnight the music stopped, there was a colorful nad massive firework and 10 minutes later the music started again. And that was it, no counting down, no hugging, no wishing a happy New Year, just nothing. We also bought some local champagne, but it was disqusting, we couldn finish it but we also had some lovely wine and that was end of this years celebration.
