Portal of the Last Judgement

The arch over main entrance of Notre Dame depicts Judgment Day with with Jesus sitting on the throne of judgment. Underneath Jesus is an angel and a devil using a balance scale weighing the souls of individuals. Also note the statue of Jesus and a pigeon resting on his finger.

Paris III 8/7 Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, and Conciergerie.

We left for Notre Dame early on 8/7 in an attempt to arrive before most of the visitors start lining up in Place Parvis to climb the bell tower of Notre Dame. Although we arrive before 9 am, the line is already forming, and at 9 am the line is long. The gates for the tower do not open until 9:30.
