Finch Bay

This was the view of the bay at sunset from our room at the Finch Bay Eco Hotel. "Eco" suggests the hotel's policy of protecting the Galapagos environment as much as possible. (Most notably, by not having TVs in the rooms.) The rooms were very comfortable, but Dick and I agreed that if we went back, we'd prefer to stay on a yacht or small ship that got us closer to the environment we wanted to see.

Next stop on our cruise down the west coast of South America was Ecuador, which lies south of the Panama Canal from Guatemala. Dick and I are learning a lot about geography on this trip.
