A Berlin Specialty
We walked into a tiny but crowded little place with typical erman atmosphere - dark wood walls, red table cloths, lots of smoke and all kinds of dead animals decorating the walls. While the others opted for the locally brewed "regular" Berlin pilsners (Berliner Kindl), I had to try the reknowned Berliner Weisse mit Himbeere. I had read and heard about this local beer that is supposedly dreadful on its own, but with a shot of raspberry it's quite the shizzle. I should've known what I was in for when it arrived with a straw. The taste was like an alcoholic Dr. Pepper. My second beer was a pilsener. The Berliner Weisse is supposed to be the perfect drink on a hot summer day.
