Taking the 3 hour ferry ride from Wellington to Picton, on Christmass NZ day, was just phenomenal! Fourtunately we had great weather on the way and we were able to have INCREDIBLE views of what the south island has to OFFER. Majestic towering green mountains islands, sittting on the still ocean waters! Ocean birds flying everywhere....just beath-taking. It really looked like the LORD of THE RINGS, but BETTER bc I was seeing it for myself!!!! JUST aw, AMAZING! 0,
Arriving in Picton at 9:15, our ferry was on time, Bay view Back backer hostel was there to pick us and others in their van. Since their place was BOOKED, bc it was X-mass, we got super LUCKy to have stayed in their LODGE, which meant, a house to ourselves, we had a radio, TV, awesome kitchen, great balconies with incredible mountain views, two sheep in the front patio, my own bathroom, good washing machines, and only for @% NZ dollars, a damn good deal! I thought i had won the lottery!!!! The two nights were just great. During the day we borrowed free bikes and rode down 5km into the town center on the bay. By the way, my free bike was just crap, rode on flat tires, jejeje, I had tried filling them with air but the tires were just too old and cracked that the air would just seep out...but alas, they were free, why complain, huh? Down at the bay, we ran into Micheal and his girlfriend Eurika (dont know how to spell her german name, sorry), chatted for abit, looked for an internet place, lost Thomas, went on my own, downloaded my pictures onto CD, then rode back home alone, it was quit nice. Earlier that day, we had mentioned to Micheal that we had a BBQ pit and so, not thinking he had taken us seriously, him and Mat=rco showed up on our door, to have the BBQ...Thomas made TACOS< it was funny, and Micheal and marco made BBQ with some delicious mushrooms...and we drank RED WINE, Im learning how to like it (the red wine) and drinking it with my meals. Over dinner, they all took out their I=pods and mp3 players and we sampled everyones music, from german to french...i of course dont own such stuff, so no music from me. It was coool though that marco, the german, had spanish music, MOLOTIOV and HEORES DEL SILENCIO, just cool! After dinner, we all jumped into micheals mini KEA campervan, drove into town where we were meeting his girlfriend. Looking for a bar, we soon realized that everything was closed bc of "BOXIONG?VAUXING day
