Haloween Nelson
Jill (nightmare) Rhonda (Horny Devil) & Me (Witch of course) Big Catch Up! Skipping over things quickly here....
Haloween dressed up as witch (green face make up and everything) and went to local music school to watch a band called Beat Girls! Very brightly dressed trio who did 3 sets of covers with non stop dance routines - 70s, Disco & Then 80's. Was such good fun, had lots of wine and then into local town - see photos for my awful make up!! =)
Then stayed in Nelson exploring town, local scenery, shops (lots of shopping for things need over here, like warm fleece as it's FREEZING in morning and evening at moment), great food (addicted to seafood and Grem is calling me a Fishatarian!) and lots of walks.
Went exploring Mapua & Rabbit Island (lovely beach, no rabbits though!), found aquarium where you can stroke anything in the water you can reach, that includes the eels.....I still have all my digits so obviously I didn't touch them! This area attracts the Country's best artists so lots of galleries, some are in peoples homes, which takes a little getting used to!
I'm obsessed with Postboxes over here. Taking hundreds of pictures of colourful ones so I

Jill as a nightmare can do a huge collage of lots of small pics of them when I get home....won't spoil the surprise and put any on here =p
Went to far top left of South Island and went on a tour of a place called Farewell Spit (the largest sandbank/sandy expanse in NZ) loads of cool birds to photograph and the tour was interesting (even in gale force winds and torrential rain...I got soaked but was still smiling!). Stayed in most wonderful B&B and asked if they would adopt me - went Salmon fishing, then got it smoked immediately and ate it whilst its hot (most amazing thing I have ever tasted), had pint n nachos in famous Mussel Inn (in 1001 things to do before you die apparently - woo hoo, I've done one, I can cark it in peace now!)
Travelled back over (to us a Mountain) Takaka hill and tried not to look at sheer drop just outside the car, but curiosity and all that...it just made me drive faster, not a good idea on mountaneous sharp bends! Stopped halfway down hill to listen to most amazing bird song (no laughing you guys), it was eye watering -

How Green is my face! so will try and catch one to bring home obviously!
Ended up in place called Kaiteriteri, went to Abel Tasman National Park and Hiked/tramped on my birthday, the sea taxi drops you at a point on coast and you walk to where they are picking you up later in day - I didn't quite realise my walk was a 5 HOUR ONE!! Involving a metal swingbridge that made me wet myself half way across and inclines that almost grazed my nose! Amazing jungle like scenery, native trees that are awesome and again bird songs that made my hairs stick on end. So, collapsed at B&B after my amazing day, owner cooked me whitebait (expensive delicacy here), local fish he caught and cake!
Next day up early and couldn't move my legs! Good job as was kayaking all day on same national park and neeed upper body strength. Sea kayaking is awesome!! Saw seals, more wicked birds, cool little holes/caves in coast, went over a sandbank (bit scarey and got very wet with crashing waves) into a river and went under the scarey bridge from day before. Then got sea sick and the guide (behind me in kayak) splashed

Koru - Fern Uncurling - Cool Symbol of new beginnings here me, I got soaked and cold and felt alot better! Ended day even more exhausted but very happy and addicted to kayaking!
Drove straight from there back towards Jill's and went to a comedy night (same night, so changed in Car Park - sorry Mum I know you raised me better!), dinner tables around a stage at The Playhouse Theatre. NZ comedian was HILARIOUS!! Very funny, rude, totally didn't care who he insulted, had national and international humour, so my face (the last muscles on me to work) got exhausted too!! LOL
Chilling out at Jills this weekend, maybe sea fishing tmrw, pyjama girls thing tonight, with BBQ and local famous scallops! yum! Start itienary thing on Monday, will be sad to say goodbye to Tinkerbell (my bright blue Daihatsu Sirion hire car) and get something new. Will report in when I can as will be relying on internet cafes!
Last thought, there are two things I want to export back home with me - Stripey Thermal tops and Chai Latte (tea sachets that have spices of cinnammon and cloves.......SO GOOD!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GREM (41) AND KATYA (32) xxxxx
