Hahei

We started out Stray backpacker touring bus today. It's a hop on/hop off bus that should take us all round new Zealand. We left Auckland and went up Mount Eden which gave some great views across the city and is only one of two places where you can see two different bodies of water. Apparently.

We then drove to Hahei and reached Hot Water beach. This looks like any normal beach and the sea is cool but if you dig into the sand then it's really hot! The pools of water are literally steaming! We paddled here for a while before going to out accommodation - a rather dinky little caravan. We took a walk from their to Catherdral Cove. The views were lovely and the cove at the end is really pretty too.

We were pretty tired after all that but the bus driver cooked us an excellent BBQ.
