dream retirement holiday

Hi all arrived in Auckland yesterday 29th Hotel is fine but a bit of a hike to the city centre. today we went into the city and ventured up the sky tower, what fantastic views,(cant send any pictures as this computer is behind a screen and only text is possible). anyway we have been told that the place to be on new years eve is down at the waterside so we will be heading down there at some stage tomorrow evening.
keith's handed over to the intelligent one so i will give you some update. The coach tour sadly ended today after breakfast, some of our companions headed home at various times throughout the day, we are able to enjoy Auckland for a few more days, overall it has been a truly wonderful trip, we have seen far more than we can ever put onto blogs or anything else, from mountain streams to trickling creeks, from seeing Kiwi's at the seaworld centre to the beautiful beaches and the ocean, craters and bubbling mud pools, the sights, sounds and more importantly to me, the smells, (anyone who knows me well will know i have had no sense of smell for a very long time) even the pungent smell of sulpher at Rotorua was fab! this for me has meant so much.
As Keith has said we will spend New Year at the waterside, it should be lively and good fun, we wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year, we leave here for Sydney on the 2nd of Jan 2011! time flies when you are having fun!!!, Probably wont be in touch until then. Carl, dad said dont worry the Aussies will know we won!

The waterside is definitely the place to be - remember Elyse and her escapades at Danny Doolans Drinking Den! There used to be an Ice Bar down there as well - worth a visit. Enjoy the last few days in NZ. Go gentle with the aussies father! Forest hammered the sheep 5 - 2 !!! Baa
