This may be my last entry before we leave to head home. I have posted pictures from my Grandson, Angelo's (or as he calls himself "Angelo Jofus"), first haircut, his third birthday, Granddaughter Lincoln's sewing creation and, also, pictures of the friends I have made at the Baha'i' Center here on Guam.
Angelo's haircut was quite the ordeal. He didn't quite know how to feel about it. He certainly looks like a different kid now. His birthday party was a nice day and lots of food and a Volcano cake with Dinosaurs. I'm trying to post a video. Hope it works this time.
Lincoln and I made a dress together and it tuned out pretty good. She looks cute in it and ready for "Project Runway".
While I have been here I have been attending the Baha'i Center in Maniglao. There is no Unitarian Universalist Church on the Island, so Baha'i was the closest I could get to UU. I made some wonderful friends who took me under their wing and offered to teach me about their faith. Marion and Betty and I would meet every Wednesday morning and they would teach me about the Baha'i Faith. It
is quite interesting, but I'm not sure if it is totally for me. My father used to say that if he was going to embrace any organized religion it would be Baha'i, but it was still too organized for him. They are a wonderful organization that believe that all religions come from the same God and that one day the whole world will be of one religion and it will be different from anything we have now. It is interesting to study other belief systems because the more you study the more you realize that they are all similar. Once you strip away all the man-made gobbeldy-gook, the basic teachings and core beliefs are the same.
As I type this it is Sunday evening, February 27. Tomorrow will be the first anniversary of my mother's death. Miss you Mom. Think about you every day. I have included a picture of Mom taken at "Two Lover's Point" from our trip to Guam in 2008.
Tomorrow will also be our last night in the apartment. We have been cleaning up and returning all the things we borrowed the last four months. Tuesday and Wednesday we will be staying at the
Hilton and boarding the plane very, very early Thursday morning to head home. It has been a wonderful visit with our family here and we will miss them, but at the same time we are also anxious to get home.
We get the camper out of storage as soon as we get home and will hopefully start to plan someting for the summer. You'll know when we know. See you on the Blog.
