hi everyone,today i'm starting to get a bit home sick.i woke up and felt odd and just wanted to lay there with those damm lizards screeching in my ear.i got up this cloudy fijian morning and offered to sweep the yard full of fallen mangos and leaves.little did i know befoe i stared that the properety is 3 acres.i was abit swaety by the end.but it did give me lots of time to reflect and meditate.remember suzanne u told me about ur friend that went to that yoga school and ate her food in silence,well i kinda felt the same.note to all when you are doing something monotonous really try to meditate and it does ease the mind.i paused to speak to a fijian who spends his day planting casava trees and he was worried i ... read more

hi everyone,sorry it took me so long to get back to you all.i was basking in the sun and enjoying me.the house i'm staying in is so quaint.it is surrounded by so many trees and land.yesterday i saw a guy walking a cow and lots of school kids in one kind of uniform.back to the house,raju's dad picked me some coconuts from the tree and also some mango's.the taste of the mango's is so different from what you get at home.i am amazed at how simple the life is here for the women who stay at home.i get up at 600am and wonder outside right away to see the sun and hear all the sounds of village life.aunty instantly brings me some tea or istant coffee outside.today i am in town and i will visit the ... read more

The Raintree Lodge is located just outside Suva, up in the hills, amongst the trees. It rained. Not unexpected, the rainforest is famous for this kind of thing. Just next to the hostel is the Colo-i-Suva forest, complete with mysterious waterfalls and pools. The hostel was really quiet, only 6 other backpackers were staying in the hostel. Two of the guys I got on with - Rusty and Jake - were typical loud and friendly Americans, typical expcept for one thing - they were really into rugby. When I questioned them about their lack of loyalty to American Football they said - "We used to play football when we were younger but then we found out there was a much better game".
