Shark Bay / Monkey Mia (onto Perth)
Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and are nice and prepared for 2008!We spent Christmas day toasting (literally) in 44 degree heat on the beach in Perth with and little picnic of Chicken and Stuffing rolls etc (We couldn't buy a ready cooked Turkey!)
In Perth until next Friday (4th Jan) so we'll see in 2008 in town with a few drinks.
Car was up for sale here and has generated interest but we have now decided to continue driving around the southern part of the country. This takes in South West corner wine region (yum yum) and will also enable us to call in on Adelaide and Melbourne on the way through. Then way we can say that we have driven around the entire continent and have visited all of the its major Cities (barring Hobart on Tasmania.) So the car and trailer will end sold back in Brisbane (from wence we came) before we fly down to Sydney toward the end of Feb.
Quick update of photos of our drive down the west coast to Perth. Stayed for a week in Shark bay where we went on
the 'Aqua Rush' which as the name suggests is a high speed jet boat which takes you out the the Western most point of Australia and also allows you to go snorkelling if you want. I didn't really fancy the idea as I thought it was probably called 'SHARK bay' for a reason, which was totally justified when 20 seconds after saying to everyone to jump in the water at a particularly nice spot he quickly withdrew the offer when a Shark shot alongside the boat to retrieve a dead fish that a fisherman had chucked in the water. Needless to say we didnt get in after that. Was a really good trip and also saw lots of Dolphins and Turtles.
Also went to feed the dolphins at Monkey Mia which was beautiful (see pics)

Happy crimbo boys, bring on 2008!
So did santa find you? Hope you enjoyed christmas. We had fun in the Alps and have the fun of opening more presents now we are back home. What a great achievement, the whole continent. Wow. If you can, go to Lindeman Estate-gourgeous. They might have a New Year concert too. Vasse Felix have scrummy wines. And there was another winery which had 'Swagmans kiss', yummy rose. I'll have to ask Al the name tho'. If you get to Manly, say Hi to Darrell and co! Happy New Year. Have fun!
