Moore River - Nov 2011

I absolutly love Moore River. It is just over an hour (80km) North of Perth and you feel like you are a million miles from anywhere. There is one shop at the caravan park and one shop at the petrol station, no mobile phone coverage and absolutly nothing else to do but go to the beach, play on the river, play ball sports or hidey in the dark and RELAX! I love it.

So we've just had our annual pilgrimage to Guilderton which is at the mouth of the Moore River. The caravan park is right on the mouth so no roads between it and the river and beach...beautiful, safe and easy to get to everything. It has that great feel where there are kids are everywhere playing cricket or british bulldogs and at night they all have torches and are playing spotlight or hide and seek then at 9pm its lights out and thats it, everyone is off in bed.

We went with another family and we stay in some 2 bedroom chalets that they have in the caravan site. They are really cheap and faily basic but clean, have hot water and insect free...thats all you need 😊 So we take more stuff than we take on any other trip...all our own sheets, pillows, towels, food etc. It would appear we travel pretty light compared to our fellow travellers and we have bbq's for dinner each night, bbq's for bfast and sandwhiches for lunch. Fruit in between and maybe a trip to the little shop for an icecream. Chips, cheese and salami and wine for the adults after hours 😊 Other friends have 5 course meals going on but we relax and figure meat and salad wont kill us... i am not there to be baking 😊) It reminds me of the camping we did as kids when we were allowed to roam free and investigate sand dunes etc...i hope the kiddies will find that too 😊
