Mum,Vicky and Andy say goodbye- I know I take ages to get the blog on these days, not had the use of many computers, anyway its here the last bit of Oz
After waving Mum, Vicky and Andy off we were back at John and Sue's ( balling our eyes out) but planning the next trip,Weve decided or rather Neil has! to take the car (maggie) and the tent this time, this should be intresting,so were going off down the Great Ocean Road again and then across to Adelaide and to Kangeroo Island,we plan to do about 4-5 weeks as we need to be back at the port in Melbourne to send Blossom( the campervan) off to England, this why we have the car now.
Got all packed up and were ready for off,we got to Apollo Bay Neil loves it here, no room on the campsites it's Easter weekend and everywhere is busy! so we drove near the beach and parked up, there was a few campers there all staying in there vans, we got chatting to a nice french couple and exchanged our stories,we are sleeping in the car tonight with the seats down and the blow up mattress laid out,we thought we would head off to
Neil
boys ard there toys! the local bar, I need a few wines don't fancy this night in the car,we had a good night then came back to our bed, the place was pitch black only the moon and stars alight,it got really windy and started raining,I wasn't keen, Neil snored well! I felt clostraphobic, next morning early I went down the street to the backpackers lodge to get showered, I'm not doing this again.
Fond a nice campsite just outside the bay,we managed to get the tent up and it looked good, I was impressed then the sun came out. On Easter Sunday morning the local people who live on the campsite dressed up with bunnyears on and threw chocolate eggs at everyones tents it was good fun, We went for a walk and noticed a car boot sale so we had a look and guess what Neil bought yes another fishing rod this time it was a fly fishing rod( by J R Hartley) aaas we got back to the camp the locals had been out in their boat and caught a shark, they called it a thrasher shark, the man gave us a large piece for our tea. That night the weather changed
Neil
trying very hard to be a patient man! it started thundering and lightening , we got into the tent with our gas lamp and played cards, we were havnig a good laugh about it until the water started coming in!Oh I've decided camping is not me either! next morning we packed up and Neil said lets fiind a hotel! great!
We drove along to Port Fairy and found a nice wood chalet for a couple of nights, good job as the heavens opened.Neil got the barbie started and we cooked the sharks steaks they were fantastic, washed down with some fine Aussie wine, oh and then I opened a bottle of Champers as we just heard that our friends Dave and Carol Gooch have got married after twenty five years! great.I got a call from a lady who lives at port fairy asking if we would look after her house for 6-7 weeks, it would include walking the dogs each day but we get to stay there free,it's a lovely place so I said yes and we would arrange to meet her the next day,Well the weather was terrible , when its cold and raining in Australia there is nothing to do,I rang the lady the next
Neil
job done day and said sorry changed my mind, were now feeling a bit homesick as the weather is just like home. The local weather reports say it will be bad for the next couple of weeks,we made a decision to turn back and go to Melborne. We thought we might get a flight to Darwin its 33 up there.
We rang John and Sue and asked if there was room at the Inn of course they said, and we drove back.
Now we need to pack the camper up ad get it ready for the ship. We had a nice day out with John and Sue they drove us to Monslavat its an old artist retreat it looks very english it was nice to go there they hold wedding ceremonys there. We noticed a chicken pen made out of tree's, Sue really liked it so Neil said he would build one on the farm this week.Itwas Donna's birhday so we went for a night out into Melbourne( brunswick street) we like it there. Neil got cracking building the chicken pen. I was looking for flights to darwin, they were expensive and its not thundering up there.
Weve had a chat and think
Apollo Bay
thrasher shark we should leave Australia early,we have done what we wanted to do and feel homesick now that its cold,we changed our flights and told all the Aussie family, they were sad we were leaving, Sheri arranged a bbq night at her house , that was a good night. Thanks Sheri and Wayne.
The following saturday there was a local market, they had some chickens for sale,John bought a few at ten weeks old and Neil got a baby one, they gave us it in a wine box so we name it Merlot. Neil went to back to the farm and made a special cage for her( he's such a softie)
That evening we were going out with Steve and Lyn for tea, as we got in the car we decided to drive to Daylesford where their friendsJulie and Steve are, they are in the middle of building there dream home,we turned up with nibbles and wine and had a great night, we met Julie and Steve's yongest son Ben and his girlfriend Jo what a night, we went to the Hepburn Hall Hotel for a meal and then the fella's played pool. All back to the cottage for toasted marshmallows and drinks round
Neil
cooking the shark steak the campfire,I went into the house to refill my Oneglass! when I saw Jo dancing about to some good house music, well I dont need much encouragement so I joined in,next thing Jo got me up on the stool dancing , everyone came in and I just carried on, we were all laughing then it was time to say our goodbyes,it was sad as we has really enjoyed our weekends at Daylesford and Julie and Steve made us so welcome, we sept at steve and Lyn's house that night, when I woke up I remebered that I was dancing on the stool I felt awfully embrassed and rang Julie and Steve to apologise, they were ok about it, thankfully,Thanks to Steve and Julie and they family or our wonderful timed at Daylesford we plan to come back! l soon felt ok after Lynnie cooked up a massive john wayne breakfast! She's bloody great!
During in our last week at the farm it went so quick, we managed to take the camper to the shipping office and sold the car aswell,Neil finished the chicken pen and helped out with a few bits and pieces.
Well thats it the time has come

He's a good chef for us to go, Neil said goodbye to all the animals even I was sad as I had overcome my fear of them while being here.We have got very attached to all the family as they had been so good to us and we all got along great, we had some good times together.
I made a poem for the family to include them all and the things we had done, we had a last supper before going to the airport and said our goodbyes.
With a massive thankyou to all the family fo your support and generosity, you made our trip very special,we will keep in touch xxxxxxx
Neil loves Australia so much that he would like to come and live here, but I love england too much, it's a wonderful place and the lifestyle is very relaxing and enjoyable,if you get chance go and see it, it's worth it!
